Symptoms
Symptoms of head lice include itchiness behind the ears and scalp, a rash on the back of the neck and the sensation that something is moving in the hair. Nits, the empty cases from which the lice hatch can be seen along the length of the hair shafts.
Causes
A head lice infestation occurs when tiny whitish or grey-brown insects transfer from an infected person into hair.
Treatments
- Lotions or sprays that kill head lice (Hedrin)
- Removal of head lice with a specially designed comb
